Close Encounters of the Accessory Kind!

Image
I've been on the hunt again for cool and quirky accessories.  The markets and op-shops have been a bit lacklustre lately, so another visit to my fave local shop, Tattooed Zombie, was in order!   You may remember some of my previous purchases from there (this is not a sponsored post: I just love 'em😉):  Don't they have the coolest stuff?  They are all handmade by the store owner, Dom, so I'm always happy to support local business.  I use that as my excuse to buy more!!😉 My latest purchase were these cute glittery alien earrings! I decided to wear my fave green skirt and this time chose to add yellow accessories as well, for something different! Boho Vibe!

Image
I was struggling to come up with a title for this post!  I kept thinking this outfit has a "boho vibe" and wondered what title would sound good to match the outfit.  Then I thought, don't over think it!  If it has a boho vibe it can be called boho vibe!!😉 I really do feel my happiest self when I'm wearing boho clothing and accessories!  To me, nothing beats the interesting textures, colours and patterns of bohemian inspired fashion.  That's why I especially love going to various markets where creative people design and make their own clothing and accessories.   Throughout my professional career, I have  always had to "tone down" the brightness of my clothing and accessories and ultimately wear a corporate costume to work!  That's why I love having a blog because I can always be authentic to my mood and style, without holding back!   Not that my style is particularly weird or "out there" anymore, but some places I have worke

Somewhere, over the rainbow....

Image
After a stressful week, I felt like wearing something very bright and cheerful! The dress is sleeveless, so I added the black shrug/cardi to provide coverage. My university study is stressful and I've thought of quitting several times already and it's only been a month!  It's hard not to be overwhelmed.  Wearing bright and colourful rainbow clothing and accessories is a good way to project an external image of fun and cheer.  Others then perceive you to be in a happy mood, so then you can fake it till you make it!!😉 The outfit: Dress: Present from Mum (Hawaii) Shrug/cardi: Crossroads Shoes: Holster Ring: Bold Ray Designs Bag: Rockmans Bangle: Bought at Op-shop a few weeks ago.  Isn't the pattern groovy?!😉 Somewhere, over the rainbow Skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream Really do come true Written by E.Y. Happy St Patrick's Day!

Image
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!  Even though I don't drink, I still like to celebrate the day by wearing green and enjoying a nice steak and Guinness pie!   A lot of people celebrate the day here in Brisbane and Australia wide.  Approximately 30% of Australians have some Irish ancestry (myself included)!  For more info about how St. Patricks Day is celebrated in Australia, click  here . This is the outfit I wore yesterday to attend a training course.  I was in air conditioning all day so I could wear my nice new emerald coloured cardigan!  The outfit: Top: Katies Cardigan: Present from Mum (Hawaii) Pants: Millers Shoes: Rivers Necklace: Lovisa Bag: Rockmans Of course I couldn't resist wearing my four leaf clover earrings! Amber was also happy to embrace her Mum's Irish heritage by wearing green!!😉 Do you celebrate St Patrick's Day?  Let me know!  I'd love to hear from you!  Thank you for visiting my blog

Thematic Dressing!

Image
I recently went op-shopping and came across this fabulous skirt!  It is fully-lined and in great condition and features a quirky and fun print with various images and writing on it.  The first word I spied on it was "Paris".  I knew then that I had to have it because I knew it would complement my "J'adore Paris" top perfectly!    I love thematic dressing and all things matchy-matchy!  I think it makes dressing more fun and creative!  I don't always dress to a theme, but when I see something that I know will go together well, I absolutely have to put them together! Here are two themes I tried recently: Outfit Theme: Paris! Top: Sussan Skirt: Bought at Op-shop Shoes: Rivers Bag: Bought at Op-shop Ring: Bought in Japan Bracelet: Lovisa Another outfit that just had to happen was a unicorn themed one!  I already had a unicorn skirt and brooch, so when I recently bought shoes with unicorns emblazoned on them, you know I just had t
