Yellow and grey & skirt from Byron Bay!

Image
Today I wore my new skirt from Byron Bay for the first time with success! "Success" means the skirt was comfortable, fit well and I enjoyed wearing it!

Wearing a unique skirt like this, that can only be bought at one store (Skallyrags, Byron Bay) is a great feeling. I know that it's unlikely that I will see anyone at my local shops wearing the same thing!! That is actually something that I dread.

I remember way back in 2001 when I was in London, I walked into the entrance of a hotel to go and check-in and I saw another Aussie woman wearing the same top as me! I promptly turned around, dragged my suitcase and left immediately! All to avoid running into someone wearing the same top!! I remember waiting in a nearby park for ages, until the "coast was clear"!!

Although I still have a bit of a "thing" about not wanting to come face to face with someone wearing the same thing as me, I think I'd just laugh if it happened now, rather than hide!! Or I'…

My Fave 5: Bags! Which is your fave?

Image
I have so many pretty and colourful bags, so choosing my fave 5 was not easy! My favourites change all the time, so I guess I should specify by saying that these are my fave 5 at this point in time!  Here they are (in no particular order):

1) Cat patterned bag, Lily Bloom.

I love this kitty cat bag! I especially love that it's made from recycled plastic! I love the colours in this bag and the fact that it has lots of different compartments for all my junk!πŸ˜‰

2) Tokyo print bag, Robin Ruth.

It was love at first sight when I spied this bag at the last-chance-before-boarding-the-plane-shop at Narita Airport!! I had to line up for ages to buy this bag-but it was worth it!

3) Purple bag, Guess.

Purple is my favourite colour so I was very excited to get this bag as a present from mum! I particularly love the flower and stud detailing on the front of this bag.
4) Red tassel bag, Rockmans.

Nothing beats a good red bag! This bag is my fave shade of red and I love the tassel and metal detail…

Black top, floral skirt & a flamingo!

Image
I bought this skirt yesterday and it's a nice and vibrant floral print that will be extremely versatile and match lots of different coloured tops.  Although I could've chosen any colour top, I chose black (again!) to feel most comfortable. I chose lots of colourful accessories though, so as to not feel too drab!

This bag is a recent purchase too. I am loving all things flamingo at the moment!

I got this awesome handmade and unique necklace yesterday from mum, who bought it at a craft fair. I love it! Amber seems to like it too!πŸ˜‰

"What on earth am I going to wear today?"

Image
Amber always looks fab: never, ever drab!!

Do you ever have one of those days when you just cannot decide what to wear? When you look in your wardrobe and just can't think of any combination of clothing to wear?
Or you simply just have no clue and find yourself staring blankly into the wardrobe, knowing that you need to get a move on because you're already running late but still can't make a decision?? Maybe it's just me...?!😜

Whenever I'm having one of those "What on earth am I going to wear today?" days I go for my old standard formula of black top, bright skirt or pants and matching bright necklace!
I used to own a gazillion (no exaggeration!😜) black tops, but now only have a few. I much prefer colour these days but on a self-conscious day and an indecisive day, black still comes in handy!

A close-up of my new sparkly cat necklace!

I am always on the look out for cute and quirky accessories. I seem to have a radar for finding accessories anywhere at anytime!πŸ˜‰It is a true gift! HahaπŸ˜‚. If anyone ever needs a necklace, bag or pair of earrings for a special occasion, I can point them in the right direction!
This is the image from freepik that I use as my profile pic because I'm always on the look out for and thinking about cute and quirky clothes and accessories!!πŸ˜‰
I found this cute and quirky kitty necklace the other day at a pop-up store at my local shops. They only had one of everything, so I was happy to find this new feline friend to add to my accessory collection! I also bought a bag made out of recycled denim with an embroidered butterfly on it. I was very happy with my new fun and unique purchases!

Style: What does it mean to you?

Image
Fashion styles: preppy, punk, bohemian, rocker, classic, feminine, grunge, trendy etc.........

The list of fashion styles is endless. Some people identify readily with certain styles and when asked: "What is your style?" can answer definitively.

I actually find the issue of style to be more complex and multi-faceted. To me, style is a way to express your own unique and individual personality.  That sounds simple enough, right? Wrong!πŸ˜‰The thing is, people rarely fit nicely into one neat category of style, personality, identity or anything!

As people we are constantly evolving, as is our style. When I was at university (the first time) I experimented with many styles: punk, boho and goth. Yes, goth! The interesting thing is that at each point in time, the style I wore felt authentic and suited me at the time.

Of course there are certain fashion styles that I gravitate towards more than others and I guess if I had to define my style, I could say it's partl…
